Legacy iOS Kit can be used to restore iPod touch 4th gen devices to iOS 7, a version that these devices did not support.

This page is for iOS 7 on the iPod touch 4 only. For iPad 1, go to touch3-ios6

WARNING: This is a tethered upgrade and has many broken device features. Not recommended unless you know what you are getting yourself into.

Usage

1. Connect your device to your PC/Mac.
2. Start the script by running restore.sh
3. Select Restore/Downgrade -> iOS 7
4. Download/select the IPSW for iPhone3,3 - iOS 7.
5. Download/select the IPSW for iPod4,1 - iOS 6.1.6.
6. Start the restore.
7. Enter kDFU/pwnDFU mode when prompted.
8. When the restore is done, the device should boot to recovery mode.

Tether Boot

The upgrade to iOS 7 is tethered. This means that a PC/Mac is required to boot every time.

1. Connect your device to your PC/Mac.
2. Start the script by running restore.sh
3. Select Just Boot -> iOS 7
4. Enter kDFU/pwnDFU mode when prompted.
5. The device should now boot.

There are a lot of broken features that come as a result of this upgrade, which makes this procedure not recommended to do.
