Table of Contents
App Management is an option in Legacy iOS Kit where users can do the following:
- Install IPA (appinst): Install IPA file(s) to the device using appinst.
- This is recommended option for installing IPAs. It uses appinst thru SSH instead of ideviceinstaller.
- appinst requires AppSync Unified, which requires iOS 5 and newer.
- Install IPA (ideviceinstaller): Install IPA file(s) to the device.
- Installing cracked apps require AppSync to be installed.
- Signed IPA files do not need AppSync.
- Dump App as IPA: Dump apps from the device into IPA files.
- This requires a jailbreak and OpenSSH to be installed on the device.
- There is also the option to Dump All Apps as IPA, to dump all user installed apps.
- List Apps: List the installed apps on the device, whether user apps, system apps, or both.
Notes
- Thanks to rcky844 for the contribution of the Dump App as IPA feature.
- The default IPA dumping tool used for this is ipainstaller.
- For iOS 5 to 12.0.x, there are two options for dumping apps: ipainstaller and Clutch.
- Choose ipainstaller over Clutch for dumping most apps.
- However, Clutch may dump some apps better, albeit with lower success rates.
- Dumped IPA files are stored in

- Installing apps: For those on iOS 14+ and device is TrollStore/jailbreak capable, better use TrollStore or TrollStore Lite instead.
- Dumping apps: For those on iOS 15+ and device is TrollStore/jailbreak capable, you may use TrollDecrypt or AppDump3 instead.
